Areeg Khalil earned an A.S. degree in Engineering Science at Hudson Valley Community College in May 2015 and went on to graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Khalil is the subject of an Alumna Profile in the fall issue of “Rensselaer,” RPI’s alumni magazine, that focuses on her quick rise through the ranks at the NYS Police Forensic Investigation Center in Albany.

Editor’s Note: Faculty member Richard Monda, who brought the article to the Chronicle’s attention, recalls Areeg Khalil was “a memorable student and high achiever.” Her two, older brothers Omar Khalil and Yaser Khalil also earned Engineering Science degrees at HVCC before attending RPI, where they earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, respectively.
